UBS recruits graduates from all academic backgrounds – the humanities and sciences, as well as economics and finance. Because of its global reach, the firm is particularly keen to hear from students with strong language skills. For UBS, degree subject is less important than a graduate’s ability to prove they can analyze problems, plan ahead, make decisions, demonstrate sound judgement, and communicate with others. The other qualities UBS seeks in graduates are ambition, integrity, a commitment to accuracy, and a desire to work as part of a friendly but driven team.

UBS Graduate Scheme

UBS’s Graduate Training Program offers talented graduates 18-24 months of continuous learning in a fast-paced but supportive environment. The program lays the foundation for a rewarding career in finance by combining intensive classroom education, coaching from more senior colleagues and on-the-job experience in a variety of teams.

UBS Summer Internship

Our 9-week structured summer internships are aimed at penultimate year students; however UBS is happy to consider applications from final year students and those who have just graduated. Students who have graduated or apply in their final year are advised that any potential career opportunities secured through our internship program would commence in September 2014.

VIDEO: UBS Insight Program

Our UBS Insights Program is a one-week program held our London office during the spring. It gives students who are considering an internship the following year a valuable – and unique – insight into UBS including our business areas, culture and guiding principles. Our educational seminars, case studies, presentations, business games, work shadowing and social events will help students understand what a career with us might be like. Throughout the program, students are provided with exclusive networking opportunities with a range of professionals across the business. Open to students graduating in 2015.

UBS Horizons Program

Our UBS Horizons Program provides students graduating in 2015 with the opportunity to travel abroad and work with our partner organization, Raleigh International, on a community or environmental project in the summer of 2013. The aim of the program is to recruit ambitious students who, like us, believe in contributing to the community and who have a strong interest in beginning their career with us. Participating in a Raleigh expedition will enhance the skills required for students to start their career as well as provide an insight into different cultures and environments. To demonstrate these developed skills, Horizons winners are guaranteed a place on our summer internship program in 2014. This will give students the opportunity to find out more about what we do and the contribution they can make to our business.
