Management accountancy isn’t just about numbers and spreadsheets. On movie sets, at fashion labels, inside football clubs, that’s where you’ll find the CIMA Chartered Management Accountant. Whenever there’s an important business decision to be made, there’s a cool headed management accountant in the thick of things.
Ever wondered who decides on the price per song on iTunes and how? Or why festival tickets work out more expensive for one day than for the whole weekend? Chartered Management Accountants are at the heart of all strategic decisions that are key to business success. They work out how much and how many and get results by looking at trends and behaviour. They operate in all types of organisations. They have top jobs often becoming managing directors and chief executives, with many running their own business.
CIMA is the natural progression for people with finance and business degrees. If you have already studied a relevant degree or qualification, you may be entitled to exemptions from some CIMA exams.
You don’t however need a relevant degree to start your CIMA studies. Graduates in other disciplines will start by studying the CIMA Certificate in Business Accounting, which will give them a solid grounding to then progress to the CIMA Professional Qualification.
