BP Internships and Placements
Summer vacation placements and 12-month industrial training programmes are offered in Business, Engineering and Science.
The company takes on around 130 interns each year, for summer placements of 11 weeks duration and year-long industrial training schemes.
At the beginning of each programme, a detailed set of programme objectives and expectations is finalised in discussion with the line manager and these are frequently revisited through a formal performance appraisal process. Apart from the line manager, each intern is also assigned an exclusive mentor for providing additional guidance and support when necessary.

Applications for the internship programmes are open from mid September and can be submitted until 31 January. The link to access the online application form is https://ukgrad.bp.com/apply.asp. The recruitment process involves 5 different stages which are listed below:
1. Submission of online application form;
2. Completion of two online tests to assess numerical and verbal aptitude;
3. Review of test scores and application form by a member of the recruitment team;
4. First round of interviews, broken up into technical and personal interviews (final stage of selection for internships);
5. Assessment centre for graduate applicants; a business simulation exercise consisting of several issues to be solved on both individual and team basis.
