BP Graduate Programme

The graduate programme is conducted within the Business, Engineering and Science divisions, across the company facilities in Sunbury, Aberdeen, Canary Wharf, Pangbourne, Hull and Milton Keynes. Each programme includes full support for obtaining relevant professional qualifications and credentials from the industry and discipline specific professional bodies.

The formal training programme is dependent on the specific area of business in which the graduate employee is based, mainly across three core activities: Upstream Refining & Marketing, and Integrated Supply & Trading (IST). Each of these business areas employs a mix of graduates and professionals from the Business, Engineering and Science streams. The content and structure of the main training programmes is provided below.

Upstream and Refining & Marketing: A 2-3-year programme known as ‘Challenge’, consisting of placements on the technical and business side with the help of a dedicated buddy and mentor. A highly structured programme offering real professional roles in which you will develop your technical expertise. Training and other opportunities to develop competencies within your disciplines and the opportunity to learn from and network with a group of peers and more experienced BP colleagues.

IST: The training programme runs for a period of three years, with three placements of 12 months duration across various departments within the Commercial, Trading, Analytics and IT&S business areas.
